Ad Codes FAQ

An ad code lets a brand run your post as an ad from your account. On TikTok it's called a Spark Ad Code. On Instagram it's called a Partnership Ad Code.

You get paid again for a post you already made, more people see your content, and brands whose ads do well may come back to extend your code or work with you again.

Usage is part of every collab, agreed to when agreeing to terms and conditions at the time of every collab opt-in. The brand can use your content in its own marketing, organic and paid, from its own accounts. Paid use lasts one year from when you post. You keep ownership of your content.

An ad code is separate. It lets the brand run your actual post as an ad from your account. You set the price, and you get paid only if the brand buys it.

On both TikTok and Instagram, the brand boosts your original post as an ad, from your account. All views, likes, comments, shares and follows count toward your original post.

On Instagram, the brand's account may also appear on the ad.

Yes. Brands can't edit your post, and your post stays on your account. See the how-to guides below for how to stop a code on each platform.

No. Brands can't see your code until they buy it.

Only if the campaign requires it. If it's optional, you choose whether to offer one when you submit your post.

You set your own price. Things to consider:

• How much work went into the post (more work, higher price)

• How well the post is performing (stronger performance, higher price)

• How much you want the extra exposure (if you want it, consider a lower price)

• If you were paid for the collab, a percentage of that amount (for example, 30%)

The brand can request an extension, and we'll let you know.

We'll email you when a brand buys your code. Ad code earnings are paid like your other Statusphere earnings: to the bank account or PayPal you've set up, in the month after you earn them. Payouts over $600 require a W-9.
